Job Description
Group Financial Controller – Property Group
The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Summary:
- Managing an established team of finance professionals.
- Devising and implementing a programme of financial controls and processes.
- Maintaining a rigorous control across the group of all corporate and reporting procedures.
- Responsibility for producing accurate and timely monthly results.
Management
- Developing, leading and motivating a high calibre, customer-facing and effective finance team, constantly seeking to improve quality service.
- Provide financial and management leadership to finance division.
- Develop the accounting community to provide financial strength across all companies.
- Staff management – expected 4 to 6 direct reports. To include staff appraisals; training; development; coaching; hr.
Financial Control
- Devising and implementing a programme of financial controls and processes to enhance overall financial discipline and adoption of Group policies.
- Maintaining a rigorous control across the group of all corporate and reporting procedures.
- Approve monthly payroll with HR from Accounts perspective.
- Supervise and review production of monthly management accounts before onward distribution to business leaders.
- Active working capital management.
Reporting
- Supervise and review production of monthly management accounts before onward distribution to business leaders
- Ensuring timely preparation, consolidation & reporting of group accounts.
- Monthly cash management and cash forecasting.
Secretarial & Governance
- Company secretary to selection of Group subsidiary companies.
- Compliance officer
Relationships
- Liaising with auditors and tax advisers
- Building effective relationships across the group with key executives to ensure accurate and coherent information flow within the group.
Projects
- Financial management systems development and implementation and ad-hoc projects.
Requirements:
- Previous financial controllership experience.
- Qualified Accountant
- Strong academic record
