Finance Analyst – Dublin South
PURPOSE
The primary role will encompass a number of different aspects ranging from accounting, reconciling and providing reporting and analysis on a range of Compensation and Benefit items to assisting the business areas in reporting, analysing and managing their cost bases.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Support Services Finance group provides finance support to the Technology and Support Departments in the region. This support includes management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and the finance for Compensation and Benefits. The group comprises of 39 people.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Significant contact with Payroll operations, Compensation & Benefits Group in London, Finance in Asia and NY and the business groups sitting in London and Dublin
- Preparation and posting of monthly / quarterly / annual compensation and benefit related expenses – mainly related to Ireland Onshore / Offshore and Non Executive Director Payrolls.
- Balance Sheet control including Inter-Company recharges. Also investigating and resolving of all reconciling items on balance sheet reconciliations.
- Co-ordination of FX trades to ensure non functional currency related exposures appropriately managed
- Co-ordination of the UK Benefit Vendor accounting and business allocation process.
- Providing analysis and reporting to business and support groups as requested. Assistance with and some attendance at periodic Business Support meetings to present various issues / proposals to the business
- Involvement with Operational Payroll / Finance related projects – Implementation of Oracle Payroll in UK and Ireland – involvement in subsequent phases – Parallel testing, post implementation work etc.
- Involvement in New business initiatives and undertaking the appropriate due diligence related to Compensation & Benefits where setting up in new locations.
- Act in financial advisor capacity to all clients and become an effective business partner.
- Preparation and review of all aspects of monthly management accounts for groups, including accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation of regular management reports in support of monthly client meetings, including commentaries and analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong relations with key Global Controllers.
- Participate in the monthly forecasting process, ensuring all systems are updated within agreed timelines.
- Play a key role in the development of annual budgets, in accordance with corporate timelines.
- Ensure all tasks are managed effectively in a time pressured environment.
- Balance Sheet control including investigation and resolution of all reconciling items.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Qualified Accountant.
- Finance experience
- Blue Chip / Multinational experience would be preferable.
- Experience of delivering on large projects.
- Systems Experience
- Excel – essential; Oracle – desirable; Essbase - desirable
