Reporting into a qualified member of staff this role will assist the financial accountant in all aspects of the finance function including the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, interim and annual accounts.
A key element to this role is to manage three members of staff (sales & purchase ledger, payroll and cashbook). You will need to have the ability to motivate and manage staff.
Principal Accountabilities
To be able to execute the following duties to a consistently high level.
Assist with half year and annual statutory accounts preparation
Assist with the preparation of accurate, timely and informative monthly management accounts
Ensure VAT returns are completed and submitted timely and accurately
Ensure that all balance sheet accounts within responsibility are reconciled and reviewed in a timely manner
Ensure the Fixed assets register is maintained timely and accurately
Ensure cash books are reconciled and reviewed
Ensure payroll and pension records and payments are maintained in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage and support Sales, Purchase ledger, expenses and company credit card payments.
Ensure that company and regulatory standards are adhered to.
Complete regular review of bank risk assessment
Manage and motivate team within responsibility, including performance development reviews.
Maintain an efficiently run team, providing and identifying necessary training and support, and also ensuring appropriate cross training is in place.
Implement procedures and guidelines to assist staff in their duties, this will also provide a professional view to internal and external customers.
Provide advice and guidance to all staff on work related issues.
Manage projects within responsibility including outstanding cheques project.
