Job Description
Our client is a partnership of consulting actuaries, established in 1947. The firm has 85 partners and principals and a team of more than 450 employees in 8 offices across Europe.
They specialise in providing clients with practical, bespoke and robust solutions, covering corporate pensions, strategic investment advice, general insurance and specialist financial services including risk appraisal, business modelling and valuations.
Due to continuing growth, a new opportunity has arisen within Finance to assist the Partnership Secretary with partnership accounting and the Financial Controller in ad hoc duties as and when required.
Specifically, the role can be split between management accounts, partnership accounts, year end accounting, tax and more general finance matters. You will work closely with the Partners when dealing with profit allocations, Partners capital and current accounts and when updating monthly Partners' remuneration schedule. You will also be heavily involved in the annual budget in the areas of Partner remuneration and will liaise with external advisers.
Tax is an important aspect of this role and, whilst knowledge of Partnership tax is not essential, a general knowledge of Corporation Tax is a pre-requisite.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant who is able to demonstrate first class communication skills and excellent organisational skills, with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy.
You will be robust in your thinking be able to prioritise your workload effectively and efficiently. Prior experience of working in a professional services environment is essential as is the ability to handle confidential information.
