Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen within a forward thinking Local Authority for an effective Finance Manager to contribute to the implementation of the councils children and young peoples plan and deliver a wide range of financial and management services for their schools.
One of the main attractions if this role is the diverse areas encompassed to include monitoring of the schools budget and expenditure plans and taking appropriate action where necessary. Improving the schools resource management including advice guidance and support. Among 27 key deliverables you will prepare and provide information in order that the councils final accounts are completed in accordance with corporate guidelines and within the statutory deadlines and ensure all accounting arrangements are adequately supported by quality working papers and audit trail.
The ideal person for this role will have a knowledge and understanding of local government finance and the legal and regulatory framework it sits within. You will also be part or fully qualified to a recognised CCAB level. Within this role you will also exercise your people skills so management experience is also essential.
