Job Description

Accounts Assistant required for a manufacturing organisation based in the Bordesley Green area of Birmingham. My client requires an experienced accounts assistant with good interpersonal skills. Your duties will include processing high volumes of purchase invoices, raising sales invoices as well as chasing outstanding payments. Other duties will include reconciling supplier statements and maintaining the cash book effectively, with general administration duties required from time to time.
You will be a tenacious individual who has the drive and determination to build a successful career in accounts. You will have excellent communication and numerical skills and be able to work under your own initiative as well as having the responsibility to meet targets and deadlines. My client wants a person who has the ability to eventually take over the accounts division and learn to take accounts to trial balance so your work must be organised and accurate as you will have to present reports to your manager.
My client has been established for over a century in Birmingham and are specialists in designing, manufacturing and distributing storage equipment. They have a small and friendly accounts department and require someone who is able to work in a stand alone role. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to build a long term accounts career, with a possibility to progress through the ranks.
Only applicants with a suitable amount of UK based finance experience and who have a legal right to work within the UK will be considered.
