Primary Objective of job:

The role involves working on Caribbean and Central American based projects aimed at structuring future operations and also working with other departments to ensure the Group’s tax profile is maximized.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsibility for the tax affairs of the entire group focusing on the creation and implementation of tax planning opportunities as they arise
2. The role is largely consultancy based and would appeal to an ambitious tax professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment
3. Liaising with Legal/Finance colleagues on group re-organisations and restructuring
4. Reviewing and advising on the application of consumption taxes and withholding taxes across the group, as well as identification of planning opportunities
5. Monitoring compliance with previous tax planning projects, evaluating them and updating where appropriate
6. Assisting Treasury Manager with planning on financing aspects of the company’s business
7. Overseeing and assisting with annual corporate income tax provisioning and compliance
8. Working on ad hoc tax queries from country Finance Directors and Group Treasury Manager.

Academic qualifications/experience required:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
• Qualified Tax Consultant (AITI)
• 1-2 years’ pqe in an international environment (‘Big 4’ or MNC) with exposure to international financing, withholding tax and intellectual property structures
• Prior exposure to international transfer pricing an advantage
• Excellent excel proficiency
• Knowledge of international standards and best practices
• Comfortable working in a fast paced, enterprising environment.

Willingness to travel is essential as the role may give rise to trips within the Caribbean and possibly Central America.
