Job Description
A prestigious investment bank is seeking a Commodities Futures Accountant to join the Financial Accounting team.
The team's responsibilities include financial accounting and statutory reporting for in excess of 50 UK and overseas legal entities, including a number of FSA regulated companies. The team also provides business support to a number of UK business lines, (including management accounts and budgeting) as well as managing the accounting for the Local Fixed Assets and investments.
The major responsibility will be the provision of financial support to the London Commodities businesses, whilst meeting monthly financial/management and annual statutory reporting requirements as well as regular control reporting.
This will encompass the production of month end balance sheet and p&l to strict deadlines, as well as the completion of the year end statutory accounts to FSA timetables.
The role will also encompass a number of projects, resolving issues for the business management and assisting other teams within Finance in clearing system breaks.
This role requires a qualified accountant with experience in the preparation of statutory accounts.
Experience of Financial Services and good business knowledge would be an asset.
A professional approach with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and a confident manner is a pre-requisite.
