Job Description
A leading global financial services provider, offering an impressive array of products and services in the equity and fixed income capital markets is looking for a Financial controller.
The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for all aspects of Financial Control and Reporting for the firm's companies in Europe.
Key Responsibilities of the role include:
- Management and leadership of the Financial Control team including all aspects of staff management (coaching, monitoring, performance reviews and compensation)
- Preparation and review of month end reports to Head Office in New York in a timely manner.
- Liaising with Head Office to follow up issues arising from monthly reporting, i.e. US/UK GAAP adjustments and disclosures.
- Responsible for balance sheet substantiation and account reconciliation
This role requires a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA or equivalent) with strong financial accounting experience with knowledge of US/UK GAAP including FRS29.
Prior experience of systems design and communicating with programmers regarding creation of a strong financial control environment from a front office system is essential to the role. Previous experience of financial services and working with entities regulated by the UK is preferable.
