Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for an Internal Auditor based at our Head office in Thorpe Park, Leeds. This role involves regular travel to operating sites. It is expected that up to 30% of the time will be spent away.
You will be responsible for reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness of the group's Internal Financial Controls, make appropriate recommendations for improvements and spread best practice in control procedures.You will carry out audits across 21 of our operating sites, ensuring that audits are carried out efficiently and to high standard, keeping technically up-to-date with internal controls and accounting standards developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that audits are carried out to a high standard, efficiently, within an agreed timetable and supporting best practice around the group. Audit reporting must be completed within a 5 week turnaround period
- Keep technically up-to-date with internal controls and accounting standards developments
- Reports to be issued within agreed timetable
- Producing Management reports on the effectiveness of controls at each site, identify and agree audit recommendations
- Sensitive and significant matters must be reported immediately to Manager
- Liaison with group / site finance contacts
- Organises and schedules projects, tasks and resources, sets up and monitors timescales and plans
- Other ad hoc Projects as required - due diligence, fraud investigation, procurement, legal, treasury, company secretarial, tax
- Successful candidates must be a newly Qualified Chartered Accountant, (or equivalent), preferably with first time passes and a background with big 4 firm.
- You will have proven exposure to a manufacturing client base, shared service centres and large IT systems such as SAP, along with Audit of PLC's & SME's, accounts, report writing and computer literacy skills.
- With a proactive approach to work, you will take the initiative, thinking things through to identify solutions.
- Working quickly and efficiently to high standards, candidates must be continuously improvement focused, be highly organised, possessing excellent planning skills and have great drive to getting the job done.
- This role requires a team player, an excellent communicator with a professional approach, able to communicate openly, giving information and listens to others.
- You will quickly build effective working relationships and credibility with Senior Management, dealing with staff at all levels.
