Qualified Accountant - Insurance

Major blue chip Insurance underwriting business seeks to attract a qualified accountant to join their busy team at their corporate offices in the City. My client is a well established and highly respected syndicate and this is a real opportunity to progress within the business to Syndicate Controller level within a relatively short space of time.
Key Responsibilities include:
Producing the regulatory returns for the business including the day-to-day production of the FSA returns, annual accounting return and quarterly monitoring return. You will document the financial reporting processes; Setting up Sarbanes Oxley testing; and Year-end statutory accounts, preparation of corporate member financial statements and Investment Accounting. You will also be involved in the day-to-day management of broker's suspense accounts including the review of expense invoice coding and monitoring of expense invoice authorisation and settlement.
Review of monthly expense variance analysis and provide commentary.
Ideally I am looking for a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with technical Insurance accounting experience gained within a UK Insurance environment. UK, US GAAP and IFRS technical development understanding would be highly desirable. Excellent systems skills including; highly advanced Excel would make you a very strong candidate.
