Financial Controller Fund of Funds
£50000 £70000 + bonus
Central London
Who they are
They are a well established fund of hedge funds with over £300m under management with plans for expansion. They act as both the UK advisor to the fund and an extended family office. They advise on over a portfolio of over 70 hedge funds across all strategies and geographies. They have a team of 7 people including 5 analysts.
What you will be doing
Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer you will be running and preparing mirror fund accounts in liaison with the 3rd party outsourced function, making sure that the fund accounts prepared by the administrator are accurate including understanding and appreciation of Net asset values. You will also monitor the cash aspects of the fund and ensure the underlying fund is at all time protected. In addition you will prepare statutory accounts for the company.
The company monitors some 4000 funds which is on a sophisticated database. You will be responsible for monitoring of the database (input is done elsewhere). You must be able to understand the systems and processes which operate around excel. There will also be some compliance reporting responsibilities and some liaison with the FSA on regulatory issues.
Who they are looking for
They are looking for someone who is qualified (preferred) or unqualified with fund management/accounting experience (preferred). They would want someone who is able to work on their own initiative with some initial training if needed. You must be Excel and computer literate
