Job Description

Our client is now seeking an accounting assistant to take responsibility for existing client work and help carry the business forward. They provide full managerial and administrative support to independent investment firms. Since its foundation, they have built a series of successful relationships with its clients, who are mainly, but not exclusively, in the hedge fund business. It provides turnkey operational and administrative services including accounting, finance, compliance, fund administration, fund development, risk management and due diligence.
The key responsibilities for the accounting assistant include:
-Maintain supplier accounts
-Prepare customer invoices
-Prepare and safeguard cheques and other forms of payment, using banks' online systems as
appropriate
-Make postings to nominal ledger accounts
-Prepare VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations
-Prepare monthly management account packs to trial balance level, including all supporting
schedules, in accordance with the Finance team's monthly schedule of dates and priorities
-Prepare comprehensive year end files to trail balance level including all supporting schedules
for auditors
-To assist in clients' administrative activities.
The suitable candidate for the accounting assistant position should be an experienced bookkeeper (who has had exposure to multi-currency and accrual accounting). You should also be computer literate with experience of accounting packages (preferably including Sage Line 50).
