Job Description
Our client has operations in the UK, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iraq, offering a comprehensive range of direct investment, corporate and project finance, government advisory and asset management services to a diverse range of clients.
We are looking for a Finance Director to work closely with the founding partners and be responsible for:
. Adherence with all reporting, compliance, accounting and audit requirements imposed by capital markets or regulatory bodies.
. Implementation and effectiveness of financial and management control to
monitor the financial and operational performance, funds flow, expenditures,
income, and reserve position against budget and forecasts.
. Development of group wide MIS and Cost Control Systems which generate
targeted, timely and comprehensive KPIs covering key management
responsibility areas such as resource allocation, utilisation, progress against
budget, deal and staff profitability.
. Successful preparation, presentation and approval of annual budgets, forecasts, financial plans, business plans and all other financial and business documents as may be required.
. Constant awareness to alert the Senior Management Team to any material
existing or potential irregularity, lack of compliance, or problem threatening
the financial well-being of the company.
The position reports to and gains direction from the Managing Partner and will
regularly liaise with members of the Senior Management Team, however the person
must at the same time use initiative in proactively contributing to commercial policy
development and in maintaining open contact and strong working relationships across the expanding network of offices.
The incumbent will engage and oversee the activities of outside suppliers of financial
and compliance services, including accountants, auditors, financial consultants,
compliance advisers, underwriters and brokers, and the banking and capital markets
community as well as maintain effective working relationships with banks and other
financial institutions
The successful candidate will have:
A full accountancy qualification with a good technical understanding of IFRS,
. A superior intellect along with seasoned analytical skills and well-developed
. levels of judgement in financial matters
. Financial exposure beyond professional accountancy, preferably in investment
. banking, and ideally with a strong international orientation
. Strong communication and negotiation skills
. An ability to recognise and implement practical solutions to business problems
. combining strategic vision with a hands-on ?can do? approach
. An ability to work in a diverse multicultural environment
